Alliance Personnel are looking for an experienced and skilled CNC Setter / Programmer. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality components within tight tolerances.

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills who can work effectively within a fast-paced jewellery manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

* Set up and operate CNC machines including lathes, mills, and routers.

* Adjust offsets and tool lengths manually or using software.

* Load and verify CNC programs (G-code) before operation.

* Modify or create simple CNC programs (training provided).

* Select and load appropriate tools and materials.

* Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.

* Carry out quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

* Ensure components meet required tolerances and finish standards.

* Perform first-off and in-process inspection checks.

* Identify and resolve machine or programming issues.

* Work with consultants to improve machine performance and reduce metal losses.

* Provide support and cover for the wider team during absences and holidays.

Skills & Experience

* Previous CNC operating experience is essential.

* Programming knowledge is desirable.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

* Good communication and teamwork skills.

* Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.

* Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to improvement.

* Good computer skills.

* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

* Jewellery industry experience is advantageous.

Working hours Monday to Friday 7am - 3:30pm (37.5hrs per week) + overtime available
