We are seeking a talented and motivated Machine Shop Logistics Operative to join our dynamic team.
Key ResponsibilitiesAre you someone who enjoys being hands-on, keeping things organised, and playing a key part in helping a manufacturing operation run smoothly? As a Machine Shop Logistics Operative, you'll be at the heart of our Machine Shop, supporting the flow of materials, tooling and equipment that enables our manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality products to customers around the world.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with colleagues across Manufacturing, Tooling, Facilities and EHS, helping to maintain a safe, efficient and well-organised environment while supporting the day-to-day operations of the workshop. Whatyou'll be doing
- Supporting the smooth operation of the Machine Shop by ensuring materials are available where and when they are needed.
- Managing the movement, traceability and handling of raw materials throughout the manufacturing process.
- Supporting tooling logistics, including the issue, return and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
- Helping maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment through housekeeping and 5S activities.
- Assisting with coolant testing, machine cleaning and general workshop maintenance activities.
- Managing the recycling and disposal of waste materials in line with environmental and safety requirements.
- Providing support across a variety of workshop activities, including benching and washing operations.
- Completing documentation accurately and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to identify improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Championing safe working practices by reporting near misses and promoting a positive safety culture.
- A practical, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when following processes and completing documentation.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
- A team-focused mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of colleagues.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- An appreciation of the importance of health, safety and quality within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering, logistics or a machine shop environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
