TOOLMAKER – PRE-PIERCE andamp; CUT-OFF TOOLING

We’re looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join the toolroom of a well-established UK manufacturer in the Oldbury area. You’ll manufacture new tooling and carry out repairs and maintenance to support day-to-day production, with a particular focus on pre-pierce and cut-off tooling
. If you’ve got hands‑on experience in this specific area of press toolmaking and thrive under pressure in a busy toolroom, this one’s for you.
Our client is a long-established, market‑leading UK manufacturer with a strong reputation in their sector and a track record spanning over 90 years. This role sits within their Technical Centre and is central to the continued smooth running of production.

- Specific focus on pre-pierce and cut-off tooling
- Respond to breakdowns quickly to keep production downtime to a minimum
- Work to a “right first time” approach, hitting deadlines under pressure
- Operate a forklift truck and overhead crane to deliver tooling to production (full training provided)
- Maintain full compliance with Health andamp;
Safety legislation and housekeeping standards
- Experience with pre-pierce and cut-off tooling specifically
- Experienced in press tool manufacture, maintenance and fault finding
- CNC and manual machine experience — surface grinding, milling, turning, fixturing
- Able to read engineering drawings and work to specified tolerances
- Well organised, self‑motivated and professional
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy is paramount
- Must be eligible to work in the UK — sponsorship is not available for this role
