Sewing Machinist

Location: Aston, Birmingham
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time
Shifts: 6:00am-2:30pm or 2:00pm-10:30pm
Overtime: Weekends and overtime available at premium rates

We are currently recruiting for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join a busy manufacturing team in Aston, Birmingham
, producing high-quality rugs.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous sewing machine experience who is looking to develop their skills in a busy manufacturing environment. Full training will be provided on the specific machinery and rug-finishing process.

As an Industrial Sewing Machinist, you will be responsible for finishing rugs by sewing the edges and rims using an industrial sewing machine.

Your duties will include:

• Operating an industrial sewing machine
  .
• Sewing and finishing the edges/rims of rugs
  .
• Guiding the rug through the machine to achieve a neat and consistent finish.
• Checking finished rugs for quality and accuracy.
• Following production specifications and instructions.
• Working safely and following health & safety procedures.
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets.
• Keeping your work area clean and organised.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

• Previous experience using a sewing machine is essential.
• Experience using an industrial sewing machine would be advantageous.
• Manufacturing or production experience would be beneficial.
• Good attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• A good attitude and willingness to learn.
• The ability to follow instructions and work safely.
• Good reliability and attendance.
• The ability to work as part of a team.
• A flexible approach to working hours.

You must have previous sewing machine experience. Full training will be provided on the specific machinery and processes used by the company.

There are two fixed shift options available:

• 6:00am – 2:30pm
• 2:00pm – 10:30pm

• £13.45 per hour
