THE ROLE
As an Experienced Workshop Controller, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day workflow of the bodyshop, coordinating workshop activity and ensuring repairs progress efficiently from start to finish. Working closely with the wider accident repair team, you'll help maintain productivity, quality and customer satisfaction while supporting technicians throughout the repair process.

Key Responsibilities:

· Coordinate daily workshop activity and allocate work to technicians based on skills, workload and repair requirements

· Monitor vehicle progress, productivity, repair times and workshop utilisation to ensure efficient workflow

· Liaise closely with VDA/Estimators, Panel Technicians, MET Technicians and Paint Technicians to maintain vehicle throughput

· Identify delays, additional work or technical issues and take appropriate action to keep repairs progressing

· Monitor repair quality and ensure vehicles are completed to manufacturer and industry standards

· Support technicians with technical and operational queries, helping to maintain productivity and quality

· Ensure workshop processes comply with Health & Safety, quality and manufacturer repair requirements

· Provide clear communication to customers and relevant stakeholders regarding vehicle progress where required

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and organised Workshop Controller who can confidently manage workshop workflow, communicate effectively with technicians and maintain high standards of productivity and repair quality.

· Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Manager, Bodyshop Controller or Senior Technician within an automotive accident repair environment

· Strong knowledge of accident repair processes and bodyshop operations

· Good understanding of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes

· Experience coordinating workloads, managing priorities and monitoring productivity

· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

· Confident communicator with the ability to lead, support and motivate workshop personnel

· Strong understanding of repair quality, manufacturer methods and Health & Safety

· Ability to work effectively within a busy, fast-paced production environment

· Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach

· Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship

· Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)

· Full UK Driving Licence preferred
