CNC Miller & Turner

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Miller & Turner to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business in Dudley. Working within a modern machine shop, you will be responsible for the programming, setting, and operation of CNC milling and turning machines, producing high-quality precision components for a range of engineering sectors. The company offers extensive machining capabilities, modern tooling, and a quality-focused manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and where required, program CNC milling and turning machines.
  • Manufacture precision-engineered components to customer drawings and specifications.
  • Work with a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and specialist alloys.
  • Conduct first-off inspections and carry out in-process quality checks.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tolerances.
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining methods.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity.
  • Ensure machines and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across manufacturing, fabrication, and inspection teams.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Turner, or CNC Machinist.
  • Ability to program, set, and operate CNC machinery.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
  • Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of Heidenhain, Fanuc, or similar CNC control systems would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work to tight tolerances.
  • Flexible approach to workload and overtime requirements.
