West Midlands
* Monday to Friday days (37.5 hours)
£30,000 + Bonus

A well-established multi-site food manufacturer is looking to appoint an NPD Technologist to join their New Product Development team at their West Midlands site. This is an exciting opportunity and key role within the NPD team to drive the development of new and modified products.
This role would suit a food science / technology graduate, with experience gained via an industrial placement or started your technologist career and wanting to specialise in NPD.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Project Management:
Lead NPD and EPD projects from concept to launch, setting up critical paths in conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders.
Factory Trials:
Arrange and attend factory trials, complete required validation documentation (including shelf-life testing), and update product costings.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Liaise closely with all factory and commercial departments to communicate project details and progress reports directly to the Head NPD.
Launch Coordination:
Arrange pre-launch meetings, coordinate the launch tracker with all departments, and provide hands-on factory support during post-launch period.
Post-Launch Review:
Carry out comprehensive post-launch reviews with all departments to ensure a smooth, complete handover to the factory.
Technical Compliance:
Provide relevant departments with precise data to create quality and technical documentation required for factory product launches.
About You
Qualifications:
Ideally educated to degree level in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related scientific discipline.
Industry
Experience:
Ideally some experience post graduation or carried out an industrial placement as part of your degree.
Technical Knowledge:
Some experience or technical knowledge with shelf-life analysis, product sampling, factory trials and managing projects from concept to launch.
Core
Skills:
Strong project and time management skills with the capability to manage multiple priorities independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
