Volunteer Organiser

The Extra Care Charitable Trust are recruiting for a Volunteer Organiser on a part-time permanent contract,
based at our Pannel Croft Retirement Village in Birmingham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Organiser to join our friendly team at our Pannel Croft Retirement Village and support the village's commitment in delivering Extra Care's mission of “
better lives for older people
”.

• Salary: £13.11 per hour (£10,253pa, pro rata of FTE)

Extra Care does not participate in the current “UK Visa Sponsorship” scheme, and we would not be able to facilitate sponsorship.

• Lead on the recruitment, retention, and recognition of volunteers both within and outside of the Village in line with the Volunteering strategy and policy.
• Raise the profile of volunteering within the Village to staff, residents, and visitors.
• Work with the Activities Coordinator at the Village to ensure appropriate numbers of Volunteers are available to assist with events and activities.
• To develop partnerships with external organisations such as universities, colleges, and local volunteer centres to build the Villages volunteer base.
• To encourage residents to contribute to the running of their location through volunteering.
• To co-ordinate the induction of all new volunteers
• To host an annual volunteer recognition event

• You must have effective communication skills and able to build rapport with volunteers and residents.
• The ability to be an effective influencer and engaging.
• Good networking skills
• Proactive and enthusiastic with initiative.
• You will need be fully flexible as this role requires some weekend working and Bank holidays on a rota basis.
