Nurse Unit Manager

Overview

We are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager for the Days shift at Maypole Grove care home in Kings Heath, Birmingham. This role reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager and involves leading the nursing and care team, ensuring high standards of care, and driving continuous improvement.

• Location: 20 Maypole Grove, Kings Heath, Birmingham, B14 4LP
• Contract: Full time – 36 hours per week – Days
• Rate: £25.29 per hour
• CQC rating: Good

• Lead your unit’s care and nursing teams to meet the medical, physical and emotional needs of residents.
• Provide strong leadership to maintain and continuously develop high standards of care and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee and manage all your unit’s clinical elements and risks.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are completed and reviewed in a timely manner and reflect care interventions appropriately.
• Act as the Named Nurse for residents allocated to you, with responsibility for the oversight, review and update of their care profiles.
• Supervise and manage your unit’s ordering, handling, storage, administration, recording and disposal of medication.

• Immersive knowledge of best practice in nursing care.
• Excellent clinical and communication skills that you can demonstrate.
• Enthusiastic approach to encouraging and motivating people.
• Ability to work confidently on your own initiative.
• Good standard of digital skills.
• First‑level nursing registration with a valid NMC PIN.
• Post‑registration and management or supervisory experience and/or training or qualifications.
