Colposcopy & Hysteroscopy is a very busy department where we care for women who need further examination following a smear test and women who experience post-menopausal bleeding.

The department is open Monday to Friday with some Saturdays.

This will be a varied role working in both Colposcopy & Hysteroscopy within our team of clinicians, CNS, nurses & Allied Health Care Professionals.

We pride ourselves on being responsive, empathetic and flexible in continuing to develop the services offered to women.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in women's health.

You will be eager to learn and have an interest in gynaecology and women’s health.

The post holder will be a clinically based nurse who will support and strengthen the nursing contribution to patients & service users within the department.

• To deliver high quality, safe, compassionate patient-centered care that respects and maintains dignity at all times for ladies undergoing outpatient colposcopy or hysteroscopy.
• To facilitate efficient and effective care and communication between the patient and their care providers and to act as patient advocate at all times.
• To contribute to practice development within the clinical setting and work in accordance with the trust's values, policies and guidelines.
• Complete any work based training associated with the role.

• Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC register

• Recent experience of working in an Acute Secondary care setting
• Experience of working independently and in a team
• Sound understanding of professional nurses' accountability
• Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and ongoing professional development/Competence
• Gynaecology an advantage

• Demonstrate achievement of numeracy and literacy skills
• Understanding of NMC Code of Conduct
• Ability to challenge existing practice and initiate change
• Understanding principles of safeguarding

• Demonstrate an ability to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care
• Ability to identify your own learning needs
