Infant Feeding Nurse

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is a specialist care provider for women and children in the West Midlands. The Infant Feeding Team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital seeks a highly motivated registered nurse to join a fixed‑term 30‑hour per week role focused on infant feeding support.

As part of the infant feeding team, the post holder will contribute to all aspects of the service, with a primary focus on supporting families with infant feeding challenges, particularly breastfeeding mothers.

• Provide expert knowledge, support and advice to staff across the trust.
• Deliver education in classroom settings on infant feeding best practice.
• Offer direct support to patients experiencing feeding problems.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
• Maintain high standards of care for breastfeeding mothers and infants.

• Advanced experience working with mothers and children in infant feeding.
• Specialist knowledge of the Baby Friendly Initiative.
• Enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about quality care for women and children.
• Strong communication and education skills.
