Registered Nurse - IV Suite

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the friendly, hardworking and dedicated IV team in the IV Suite, Deeside Community Hospital. The role involves the delivery, care and management of IV infusions/transfusions, inserting lines, and assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating specific clinical programmes of care. It requires skills such as venepuncture and cannulation, which can be gained with the support of the IV staff.

You need to have a passion for delivering care to both acutely ill patients and patients with long‑term conditions, adapt quickly and work in different settings. You should be confident in your clinical skills, able to work independently and able to switch and change in a fast‑paced environment.

You will be:

• Providing training and support to patients and their families.
• Assisting with or performing blood draws and inserting IV lines.
• Managing haematological conditions and collaborating with consultants.
• Supporting oncology patients with treatments and collaborating with consultants.
• Observing patients’ conditions, monitoring vital signs, and escalating to an appropriate clinician.
• Developing and implementing care plans based on patient needs and maintaining accurate records of care.
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care – collaborating closely with oncology and haematology.
• Developing and supporting a new service.
• Taking on a senior role when needed and being competent in the management and delivery of IV therapies.

• NMC registered.
• Evidence of post‑registration study and training, e.g., POVA, child protection, intermediate life support if required in clinical setting.

• Experience of providing holistic nursing care.

• Ability to document details clearly and accurately.
