General Surgery Scrub Nurse
Location: Midlands
Availability: Weekend Sessions

Are you a General Scrub Nurse with experience in post‑anaesthetic or perioperative care, looking for additional weekend work? This role supports a well‑established NHS Trust in the Midlands within a busy General Surgery service.
This position offers flexible extra sessions and the opportunity to work alongside experienced theatre and recovery teams in a patient‑focused environment.

- Prepare operating rooms for scheduled surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are available, functional, and sterile.
- Verify patient identity, procedure details, consent forms, and surgical site according to established protocols.
- Participate in surgical safety checklists and team briefings.
- Anticipate equipment and instrument needs based on the planned procedure.
- Maintain strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
- Apply excellent understanding of sterile technique and aseptic practice.
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Current experience working within a surgical setting for a minimum of 6 months within the last 12 months.
- Proven NHS experience.
- Desirable experience in surgical wards or theatre environments.
- Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
