Orthopedic scrub​/SFA bank

Bank theatre scrub practitioner role at Nuffield Health's Shrewsbury Hospital, covering Registered General Nurse or operating department practitioner shifts on an ad-hoc basis with no fixed hours. The work centres on scrubbing for orthopaedic surgery, supporting junior staff and keeping care continuous between the ward and theatre team. The hospital runs a consultant-led surgical service covering orthopaedics, ophthalmology, general surgery and bariatrics, and weekend shifts are included.

Applicants need NMC or HCPC registration and post-registration experience.

• Scrub in theatre for orthopaedic cases as a theatre scrub nurse or SFA
• Work as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team alongside consultants
• Manage a varied caseload using modern technology, equipment and facilities
• Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff
• Deliver high-quality, clinically effective and evidence-based care and patient experiences
• Work with ward colleagues to maintain continuity of patient care

• Qualifications relevant to registration

• Registration with the appropriate governing body, including NMC or HCPC

• Post-registration experience
