Operating Department Practitioner - Anaesthetic

This permanent, full-time theatre post at Nuffield Health's Shrewsbury Hospital covers anaesthetic, recovery and scrub work, open to a registered nurse or an operating department practitioner. The role centres on delivering clinical care across a varied theatre caseload while supervising and developing junior staff, with on-call duties attached. Weekend shifts are included, and the hospital's three operating theatres are equipped with current technology.

Candidates need NMC or HCPC registration and prior scrub experience to be considered.

• Supervise, support and develop junior members of staff
• Deliver high-quality, clinically effective and evidence-based care and patient experiences
• Work across a varied caseload in anaesthetics, recovery and scrub
• Work alongside consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Support continuity of patient care with colleagues on the ward
• Carry out on-call duties

• Qualifications relevant to NMC or HCPC registration

• Registration with the appropriate governing body, NMC or HCPC

• Scrub work experience
• Post-registration experience
