Veterinary Surgeon - experienced team

Luton Vets for Pets is looking for a Vet to join the team!

We are a well-established (16 years) small animal practice looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join us part-time or full-time.

You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive practice owned by 3 JVPs (2 Veterinary Surgeons and 1 Registered Veterinary Nurse). Our fabulous team consists of 5 Vets, 4 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 2 VCAs, a Customer Care Manager and 4 receptionists.

The Vet team has a varied experience, with 2 certificate holders. We offer the benefits of 20 minute consults with a 4 day week Mon‑Fri, 8.30am to 7pm, with one day having early finish day at 5pm to maintain work‑life balance. The weekend rota is 1:4 Saturdays, 9am to 4pm, and no Sundays. There is also no OOH or Sole Charge.

The ideal candidate will want to thrive as a general practitioner. We’re flexible with the level of your experience, so if you have many years’ experience, require more support or are just starting out we can be the practice for you. We have a GDP advisor who has a track record of helping vets progress their clinical skills in a very supportive environment with an experienced team.

We encourage and support further education and certificates for all staff if they wish.

Our practice is RCVS accredited at General Practice Level. We have separate cat and dog wards, 4 consulting rooms, theatre, prep, diagnostic room and a fully stocked pharmacy. We are well equipped to help our clinicians diagnose and treat our patients with ultrasound, a video endoscope, digital x‑ray, full IDEXX in‑house laboratory, K‑Laser, blood pressure machine and a Multiparameter monitor.

Pets is 10 minutes from the Luton International Airport so it’s always easy to go overseas on holiday. Closer to home, we’re under an hour from London by train, with the closest train station a short walk away.

• Salary up to £70,000 (pro rata) depending on skills and experience.
