Health and Safety Advisor/Facilities Admin Support (VN856)
Location:
Birmingham (Based)
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Working pattern:
Monday – Friday (Day shift)
Hours per week: 40

- Support the risk assessment process and consider how risks could be reduced
- Carry out FRA for all Depots
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards
- Review depot inspections/audits in MYC to check policies and procedures are properly implemented
- Review the actions produced from MYC to ensure completion
- Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
- Lead in‑house training with managers and employees on health and safety issues and risks
- Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
- Review incidents and accidents in MYC and produce statistics for managers
- Advise on a range of specialist areas – e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, and occupational diseases
- Produce schedules for the facilities team
- Review the schedule for legal and statutory compliance
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Tech IOSH as a minimum
- General health and safety knowledge to promote a positive culture in the workplace
- Experience in the food and drink sector
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain health and safety processes and to give presentations to groups
- Negotiating skills to convince managers of the need to implement and maintain safety standards that may compromise speed or efficiency
- Patience and diplomacy demonstrating a collaborative approach
- The ability to understand and analyse complex information and present it simply and accurately
- A flexible approach to work
- An interest in the law and the ability to understand regulations
- Full driving licence – essential for travel between sites
