Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer

The Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and approving supplier certification, which is used to manufacture critical components for supply primarily into the naval marine sector but also other marketplaces including civil nuclear.

Working within the Quality function the Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will promote excellence and quality throughout the Company, always applying sound engineering judgement and practices. The engineer will be an ambassador and role model for the company and will act with integrity and in accordance with company policies at all times.

• Ensure that the certification received from suppliers is correct and meets the quality standards required by customers.
• Review certification supplied by the supply chain and verify against customers’ specifications to ensure full compliance.
• Liaise with suppliers to communicate any required corrections to certificates, and report to the Senior Quality Compliance Officer at the preferred location of Aston, UK.
• Analyse and verify material using XRF positive material identification equipment.
• Provide advice and assistance to colleagues and suppliers regarding material and testing standards and requirements.
• Train suppliers in certification requirements and provide on‑site support and certification approval as required.
• Lead projects to improve the workflow of certification processing, reducing checking lead times and ensuring 100% RFT quality of product provided and associated certification.
• Maintain the certification database and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
• Deal with all material enquiries both internally and externally.
• Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to; highlight deviations and review SOPs to keep processes correct and up‑to‑date.
• Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested.
• Raise concessions relating to material.
• Raise and action DRs.
• Support contract review processes, including Quote2
  
  Order.
• Support goods inwards processes.
• Support works order reviews where required.
• Arrange and monitor third‑party test house requests.

• Proven track record of success in Quality with a strong understanding and exposure to operations, engineering, distribution and supply chain.
• Graduate or equivalent qualification with a strong engineering/manufacturing background.
• Experience of operating within a global manufacturing or technology business and a balance of working both strategically and operationally.
• Broad based technical and business knowledge of the Nuclear/Defence industry is desirable.
• Experience in a metrics‑focused environment including weekly and monthly quarterly reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of Defence standards and accreditations.
• Ability to prioritise a diverse workload.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high accuracy level.
• Able to keep the customers’ interests front of mind, creating strong and in‑depth relationships.

• Support the quality team in relation to the procedures for ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001.
• Support the Quality Assurance as required: internal reject analysis.
• 25 days plus bank holidays annual leave.
