Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re working with a major client delivering Britain’s high‑speed rail infrastructure programme and are recruiting a Quality Manager to provide leadership and support on quality across delivery teams and the supply chain.

This is a quality assurance and improvement role. You will instill a right‑first‑time ethos across the programme, monitor supply‑chain compliance, conduct quality audits, analyse trends and drive improvements. Your work ensures the programme delivers at the right standard, first time. You will work across multiple delivery teams as a quality subject‑matter expert, supporting project teams to deliver safe, efficient and compliant outcomes.

What

You’ll Be Doing
  • Monitor and report on supply‑chain compliance and performance against contracted standards and quality requirements.
  • Conduct quality audits across the supply chain, planning and coordinating with other functions within the project environment.
  • Identify trends and concerns through analysis of non‑conformances and defects, ensuring root causes and preventative measures are implemented.
  • Lead the implementation of the Get it Right Initiative to measure the cost of poor quality and drive improvement.
  • Promote knowledge sharing across delivery teams, including lessons learned, best practices and high‑potential incidents.
  • Monitor first‑time acceptance rates and support the improvement of document quality and submission standards.
  • Review and accept supply‑chain quality documents, including Quality Management Plans and audit schedules.
  • Provide technical support and advice to delivery teams on quality matters, including key concerns and recommended actions.
  • Educate and train delivery teams and the supply chain on quality processes and management information systems.
  • Support the development of quality requirements and contribute to supplier selection and evaluation.
What We’re Looking For

You are a quality professional with substantial experience developing and delivering against quality performance measurements, and you have hands‑on experience conducting operational audits and analysing quality data to identify trends, root causes and preventative actions.

You have successfully delivered quality‑focused projects and initiatives that have driven business improvement.

You hold an IRCA‑approved ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent. You have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, able to engage internal and external stakeholders without direct authority, and you can interpret quality management standards and apply them to complex infrastructure projects.

You are educated to degree, HND or HNC level, preferably in engineering or construction.

You can produce clear quality performance reports that inform management decisions, understand the relationship between project delivery risk, quality management and assurance, and are organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver assurances to agreed deadlines.
