Role Overview

The Quality Compliance Certifications Engineer will be responsible for reviewing and approving supplier certification used to manufacture critical components for the naval marine sector and other markets including civil nuclear.

Working within the Quality function, the engineer promotes excellence and quality throughout the company, applying sound engineering judgement and practices. The engineer will act with integrity and in accordance with company policies at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure certification received from suppliers is correct and meets quality standards required by customers.
  • Review supplier certification and verify it against customer specifications to ensure full compliance.
  • Liaise with suppliers to communicate required corrections to certificates.
  • Analyze and verify material using XRF positive material identification equipment.
  • Provide advice and assistance to colleagues and suppliers regarding material and testing standards and requirements.
  • Train suppliers in certification requirements and provide on-site support and certification approval as required.
  • Lead projects to improve the workflow of certification and efficiency of processing, reducing checking lead times and ensuring 100% RFT quality of product and associated certification.
  • Maintain the certification database and ensure KPI targets are achieved.
  • Handle all material enquiries both internally and externally.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to; highlight deviations and review SOPs to keep processes correct and up to date.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or requested.
  • Raise concessions relating to material.
  • Raise and action DRs.
  • Support QASOR review and generation processes.
  • Support the contract review process, including Quote2

    Order.
  • Support the goods inwards process.
  • Support works order reviews where required.
  • Arrange and monitor 3rd‑party test house requests.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record of success in quality with strong understanding of operations, engineering, distribution, and supply chain.
  • Graduate or equivalent qualification with a strong engineering/manufacturing background.
  • Relevant quality/metallurgical professional qualifications.
  • Experience working within a results‑driven environment with skills in managing core processes and taking a creative and innovative approach.
  • Experience operating within a global manufacturing/technology business, balancing strategic and operational work.
  • Broad technical and business knowledge of the nuclear/defence industry is desirable.
  • Experience in a metrics‑focused environment, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of defence standards and accreditations is desirable.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  • Can‑do attitude, problem‑solving skills, and determination to continually improve with a creative approach for new idea generation.
  • Ability to prioritise a diverse workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high accuracy level.
  • Ability to keep customers’ interests front of mind, creating strong and in‑depth relationships.
  • Acts with integrity, delivers on promises, inspires trust, and builds credibility while following responsible business practices.
  • Determination to overcome unexpected obstacles and find the right solution.
  • Strong drive for results, confidence, motivation, and tenacity to create momentum and pace to drive results.

  • Supports the quality team in relation to ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 procedures.
  • Provides support to QA in process audits, customer audit preparation, and internal reject analysis.
