Health And Safety Advisor

Responsibilities

• Support the H&S Manager to implement and roll out safety training and awareness
• Carry out safety inductions for office and operational staff
• Maintain our database of all accidents and near misses
• Review and produce risk assessments and safe systems of work
• Perform safety auditing of operational sites, both general and focused
• Assist in internal and external audits for the company ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management System
• Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) to identify where additional or refresher training is required for those in operational roles, such as mobile plant competencies
• Provide support to incident investigations to identify root causes and preventative actions
• Provide training on manual handling and vehicle reversing (certified training to be provided)
• Produce and deliver toolbox talks, safety bulletins and safety alerts
• Review Display Screen Equipment assessments carried out on DSE users
• Perform additional duties as required by the department and company

• A recognised H&S qualification, such as NEBOSH National General Certificate, is highly desirable but not essential
• An understanding and background in high‑risk site‑based industries would be a distinct advantage

• The role will involve travel between company sites and so a full and valid driving licence will be required; a company car or suitable allowance (£5500k) will be provided
• Training may be provided both internally and at external training providers where required
• You may be required to assist the Environmental Compliance Manager or Transport Managers with instruction and training to employees

In return you will start at £35,000‑£40,000 p.a. (DOE) plus car pr £5500 allowance
