Quality Manager
West Midlands
£40,000 - £45,000
What makes this place different is that it isn’t one process. Several different cooking methods run under one roof, each with its own risks, CCPs and challenges. If you like variety, you won’t get bored.
They’re part of a global group with serious investment behind them and a real focus on getting quality right. It’s a fast, highly automated site where QA has a seat at the table.
The job
Leading a medium sized QA team
Owning customer complaints from root cause to the customer response
Leading on traceability, and being the person who stands up and defends it in audits
Running the micro and nutritional testing programmes
Making the call on holds, releases and food safety risks
Running the daily taste panel
Working with Ops, Engineering and Hygiene
What you’ll need
QA experience in food manufacturing
Hands-on micro experience (this one’s essential)
A good track record of investigating and closing out customer complaints
Experience with customer and third-party audits
HACCP Level 3, Level 3 Food Hygiene and an audit qualification
A food-related diploma or degree would help
Why bother?
You’d be running the QA function on a busy, multi-process site that makes products people actually eat. You’d have the authority to make real decisions, and the backing of a global group. It’s a solid next step for a QA Lead or Assistant Manager who’s ready to step up, or for an experienced QA Manager who wants more variety.
