Full time starting salary is normally in the range £36,636 to £46,049 with potential progression once in post to £48,822

BackgroundWe are looking for a candidate who has skill sets to deliver the project on check point induced liver injury. Candidate should have regulatory T cell (Treg) biology, immune regulation, and tumour immunology, with experience in in vivo models and high-dimensional immune phenotyping.
Role Summary- Work within the team to deliver a dedicated project as well as team projects
- Contribute to writing grant bids and generating funding
- Operate within the area of immunology, check point inhibitors, oncology
- Analyse and interpret research findings and results as a team player
- Contribute to licensing or spin out deals with demonstrated commercial success (such as revenues, asset or company sales, IP generated) and/or public understanding of the discipline or similar
- Develop research objectives and proposals for own or joint research
- Contribute to writing bids for research funding
- Analyse and interpret data
- Apply knowledge in a way which develops new intellectual understanding
- Disseminate research findings for publication, research seminars etc
- Supervise students on research related work and provide guidance to PhD students where appropriate to the discipline
- Contribute to developing new models, techniques, and methods
- Undertake management/administration arising from research
- Contribute to Departmental/School research-related activities and research-related administration
- Contribute to enterprise, business development, and/or public engagement activities of manifest benefit to the College and the University, often under supervision of a project leader
- Collect research data; this may be through a variety of research methods, such as scientific experimentation, literature reviews, and research interviews
- Present research outputs, including drafting academic publications or parts thereof, for example at seminars and as posters
- Provide guidance, as required, to support staff and any students who may be assisting with the research
- Deal with problems that may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines
- Promotes equality and values diversity acting as a role model and fostering an inclusive working culture.
- First degree in area of regulatory T cells, cancer immunology, and check point inhibitors
- Recently completed and written up PhD
- Ambitious, hardworking and team player
- Fluent in Spectral flow analysis and samples processing up to 20 colours
- Skills in Multi-colour Immunofluorescence
- High level analytical capability
- Strong knowledge in Oncology and lymph node biology
- Strong background on Treg biology
- Tissue immunology experience
- Basic knowledge on R
- Extensive experience with mice work
- Basic experience with check point inhibitors PDL1
- Fluent in function, migration, and spatial organisation of Tregs and CD4 + T cell subsets within the tumour microenvironment using in vivo experimental models
- GCP training
- Tissue‑infiltrating lymphocytes, including regulatory T cells biology
- Outreach activity, leadership with NIHR
- Home Office Personal Licence holder
- For in vivo animal research including in vivo tumour models and experimental design
- Fluorescence and confocal microscopy (Zeiss systems) Tissue preparation and immunofluorescence staining Quantitative image analysis using Image
J and Qu Path - Ability to communicate complex information clearly within the team and with outside collaborators
- Fluency in murine models, techniques, or methods
- Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively
- Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes with team leads
- Contribute to the planning and organising of team research programme and/or specific research project
