Opening hours: 10:00 am to 2:00 am, Monday to Sunday
DescriptionOur Kitchen Assistants/Team Members are responsible for preparing our food offering to the highest quality and standards and ensuring a smooth, efficient kitchen operation.
What you’ll do at Pasta Evangelists- Set up the kitchen for each service with the correct amounts of pasta sauces and other ingredients, balancing speed and food cost.
- Wear a full smart clean uniform to brand standard at all times and protective clothing as required.
- Maintain the highest standard of food quality and safety, following the Pasta Evangelists SOP and “How to Cards.”
- Keep the kitchen exceptionally clean and compliant with Health & Safety, Quality & Safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels and notify team leaders and wider team in advance of shortages.
- Record information on food per company policy, ensuring FIFO stock rotation.
- Track and record food wastage accurately.
- Use the SOP to maximize the quality and speed of food readiness.
- Maintain temperature records for all equipment (fridges, pasta boiler, ovens, microwaves) and follow safe food handling procedures.
- Keep all equipment maintained to SOP standards, e.g., kitchen management system, ovens, fridges, freezers.
- Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, complying with “How to Cards” and SOP.
- Delivery management: accurately check incoming deliveries and report any issues; ensure proper receipt and storage.
- Operate the wash‑up area effectively, cleaning equipment thoroughly.
- Use correct signage during cleaning operations.
- Dispose of rubbish correctly, following waste management processes and local authority requirements.
- Report any equipment defects quickly to team leader or area manager.
- Follow all close‑down kitchen procedures; leave the kitchen clean for the next shift.
- Organise pest checks regularly and report concerns to the team leader and higher management.
- Knowledgeable of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques to prevent foodborne illness.
- Familiar with basic culinary techniques such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients.
- Can work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing time effectively.
- Detail‑oriented in food preparation, cleaning, and kitchen organisation.
- Team‑player who communicates effectively and follows instructions from team leaders or area managers.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing situations, schedules, and tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.
- £12.21 per hour – £13.21 from midnight onward.
