The OpportunityWe are looking for a strategic and commercially driven business development leader to make a significant impact within the apprenticeships sector. This role will lead regional growth, shape business development strategy, and build lasting employer partnerships across the Midlands.

The RoleAs Head of Business Development, you will lead the organisation’s regional growth strategy, drive new business opportunities, and manage a high‑performing Business Development team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a regional business development strategy to achieve sustainable growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing Business Development team.
- Identify and secure new apprenticeship opportunities with employers across multiple sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and employer partners.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle, including bids, tenders, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure an excellent client experience and successful programme delivery.
- Monitor market trends, apprenticeship funding developments, and competitor activity to inform commercial strategy.
- Significant experience in a senior Business Development role within the apprenticeships sector.
- Proven track record of securing new business and developing long‑term employer partnerships.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high‑performing Business Development teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent strategic planning skills.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- A proactive, results‑driven approach with the ability to combine strategic leadership with hands‑on execution.
