The Sales Trainee is an entry level position responsible for comp l eting a rigorous training program in preparation for assum i ng an earthmoving sales territory.
Sales Trainees must be able to perf o rm independently under close s upe r vision. Ex t ensive on the job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning must be successfully completed to remain in the Sales T r aining Program.
The Sales Trainee will de m onstrate initiative, sense of urgency, commitment to teamwork, enthusia s m for customer service, and dedication to finding s o lutions in a n effic i ent manner. The Sales T r ainee must be willing to relocate anywhere in the Thompson T r actor territory when a po s ition beco m es available.
A valid driver’s license is a requirement for this position.
- Complete the web-based Caterpill a r Foundational Sales Certification
- Attend assigned instructor led Service Training courses
- Work in various servi c e departments including the shop and field service
- Work on the parts counter and in the warehouse
- Develop a complete knowledge of the Caterpillar product line and
- Assist in collection of past due invoices
- Monitor and report product performance and competitive activity
- Provide liaison suppo r t between customer, TTCO, and our vendors
- Establish and maintain personal working relationships with cowo r kers
- Negotiate mutually agreeable se t t lements on customer complaints

Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or the equivalent required. College degree preferred.
Experience
Previous sales and a working knowledge of the earthmoving industry is preferred. Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills are required. Candidates must possess the ability to quickly acquire the following required skills and competencies

Safety Summary
Working Conditions
Work is normally performed in a customer or company warehouse, worksite, shop, or office environment. Exposure to physical risk and all weather conditions is associated with this position. Driving for extended periods of time and standing on hard surfaces for extended periods of time is often required.
