Co‑op Retail Stores over West Midlands Area

Pay: £13.45 per hour (minimum 8 hrs/week).

Will also be required to cover sickness and holidays on the Birmingham Store Detective Team at various stores, paid at £17.03 per hour.

• Protect customers’ property, people and assets by providing security services in accordance with site Assignment Instructions (AI) and any changes.
• Deliver results meeting or exceeding key performance indicators / service level agreements to aid contract retention.
• Undertake additional training for continuous self‑development.

Operations

• Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete all tasks defined in the Assignment Instructions.
• Review and suggest amendments to Assignment Instructions.
• Maintain required licences (front‑line security or door supervision, CCTV PSS SIA) and renew before expiry.
• Comply with legal obligations and safety requirements.
• Follow instructions and procedures without unnecessarily challenging authority.
• Work systematically and orderly.

Training

• Complete required competency training.
• Undertake additional training as directed.
• Use technology to achieve objectives and develop knowledge.

Security & Health & Safety

• Report health & safety hazards and incidents immediately.
• Stay alert to threats or changes and take appropriate action.
• Use common sense and involve others if situations become threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct around challenging customers.
• Record detailed notebook entries after incidents.
• Adhere to schedules and commitment.
• Ensure check calls are carried out at allocated times.
• Call emergency services and Communication Centre for incidents.

• Previous security experience.
• SIA Licence.
• SC Clearance desirable.
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
