Position: Civils Operative (Permanent)
Civils Operative – Midlands – Permanent – Up to £40k + Fuel + Van + OT + Benefits

Overview

Fuel Recruitment is working with a leading telecoms infrastructure provider seeking a Civils Operative to join their Fixed Line Build team. This role involves carrying out telecoms civils works, including excavations, duct laying, reinstatement, and cabinet/box building, to support fibre and utility network build and maintenance projects. You’ll ensure all works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake telecoms civils works including excavation, ducting, reinstatement, and cabinet/box builds.

* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company standards.

* Deliver high-quality reinstatement and build works in line with HAUC specifications.

* Maintain productivity and adhere to project programmes.

* Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and the public.

* Operate plant and machinery safely (e.g., mini-diggers).

Key Skills / Experience

Essential:

* Experience in telecoms or utilities civils works (excavation, ducting, reinstatement).

* NRSWA (Street Works) Operative accreditation.

* CSCS card.

* Full UK Driving Licence.

* Understanding of Health & Safety requirements on civils sites.

* Ability to operate plant and machinery.

Desirable:

* First Aid at Work certification.

* CAT & Genny training.

* Confined Spaces training.

* Experience on SPEN, Virgin Media, or City Fibre projects.

* Openreach accreditations.

* Digger & Plant tickets.
