Mobile Electrician - Travel Required
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join our team in a full-time, permanent role. This is a mobile position, requiring travel across the West & East Midlands and occasionally wider UK locations. The successful candidate will carry out a mix of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive works, and electrical installations across both commercial and domestic properties.
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000

- Carry out Planned & Reactive Electrical Maintenance across multiple sites
- Complete electrical installations in commercial and domestic environments
- Perform EICR testing, 1 & 3 phase power installations, and LED lighting upgrades
- Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs efficiently
- Provide accurate assessments when additional works are required
- Communicate clearly with customers when follow-up visits are needed
- Ensure all tasks comply with current electrical codes, standards, and site rules
- Maintain a cost-effective approach when sourcing materials
- Keep all mandatory training and competencies up to date
- Complete all job-related documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a safe and clean standard
- Support management and liaise with clients to ensure work is completed correctly
- Actively identify additional work opportunities when appropriate
- Participate in the emergency call-out rota (1 in 6-8 weeks)
- Minimum 5 years' industry experience in electrical installations
- Strong electrical knowledge across both domestic and commercial settings
- Excellent understanding of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
- Experience with electrical testing and inspection
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe-working methods
- Self-motivated, detail-focused, and able to work independently or in a team
- Flexible to travel to multiple sites and undertake overtime when required
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, tenants, and colleagues
- Full clean UK driving licence
- City & Guilds Level 3 - Electrical Installations (BS 7671 : 2018)
- City & Guilds 2391 / 2391-52 - Testing & Inspection
- Salary review upon completion of probation
- Paid door-to-door (minus 30 min travel + 1 hr lunch per day)
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- Call-out rota: £100 standby, £40 for first hour attended, remaining time at time and a half
- 23 days annual leave + bank holidays
