THIS ROLEThis role will cover 40 hours per week, split into 5 shifts of 8 hours. Shifts include daytime, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, and will be allocated in advance on a rota basis. The successful applicant must be willing to work at these times.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Operative (Trade) – Plumbing will lead on plumbing trade, while the Facilities Operative (Trade) – Electrical and Mechanical will lead on electrical and mechanical tasks. Both will undertake hands‑on scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring they are carried out to the highest standards within agreed timescales. They will assist the Facilities Manager and Head of Department to ensure building systems and services are maintained and operated to the highest standards, minimising equipment downtime and ensuring repairs are completed timely.
Supported by the Facilities Manager, the role will act as day lead for the team, including setting routine tasks and duties as per the agreed rota. This role will also support the mechanical & electrical engineer with plant room maintenance and building management systems.
ABOUT YOU- Demonstrable hands‑on plumbing or electrician experience, especially with specialist training or qualifications.
- Good general maintenance skills such as building maintenance, painting, woodworking, and lamp replacement.
- Good standard of literacy, numeracy, and IT skills, including Office 365.
