Assistant Pastoral Worker Temporary

Position: Assistant Pastoral Worker (Permanent, Temporary)
Location: Harborne

Supply Heroes are looking for a compassionate and experienced Assistant Pastoral to work along side with other Pastoral Staff and SLT. This school is a supportive, and highly respected mainstream primary school in Harborne, Birmingham. You will be responsible for providing support to families with children and young people who are experiencing a range of social, emotional, and practical challenges.

This full-time position is to start ASAP and is for the full academic year, with the possibility of temp-perm.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing individual and group support to families

* Working with families to develop and implement support plans

* Providing information and advice about available services

* Liaising with other professionals and outside agencies

* Conducting home visits where appropriate

* Forming fun and engaging social clubs with children to help promote their social skills e.g., at lunchtime

* Keeping accurate records and using IT skills to update databases and reports

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g. childcare, social work, social care, youth work, counselling, or education)

* Be familiar with guidance like Right Help, Right Time

* Experience of working with families and children

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* The ability to work independently and as part of a team

* A commitment to promoting positive and health outcomes for children and young people

* An emphatic and non-judgmental approach
