Mentis Midlands CIO is a registered charity providing high-quality supported accommodation across the West Midlands. We work with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, homelessness, and complex needs, helping them stabilise and move towards independence.
We are expanding and are looking for a driven, relationship-focused professional to help us maintain high occupancy across our supported housing portfolio.
The RoleWe are seeking a proactive Referral & Lettings Officer to:
- Build and maintain strong referral partnerships with:
- Local authorities
- Mental health teams
- Charities and community organisations
- Actively promote our self-referral pathway
- Conduct face-to-face property viewings and assessments
- Complete resident sign-ups and onboarding documentation
- Liaise with housing benefit teams where required
- Ensure rooms are filled promptly with suitable residents
This role combines business development, tenancy management, and frontline engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain occupancy targets across multiple properties
- Develop new referral streams across Birmingham and surrounding areas
- Screen referrals to ensure suitability
- Conduct needs-based assessments
- Complete tenancy agreements and licence sign-ups
- Support smooth move-in processes
- Work closely with Support Workers and Housing Managers
- ✔ Experience in supported housing, housing management, lettings, or homelessness services
- ✔ Confident networking with professionals
- ✔ Strong understanding of exempt accommodation / housing benefit (desirable)
- ✔ Excellent communication and organisational skills
- ✔ Ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline
- ✔ Full UK driving licence
