Role Description

This is a full‑time hybrid role for a Senior Supervising Social Worker, based in the West Midlands with partial work‑from‑home flexibility. The role involves supervising and supporting foster parents, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting the well‑being and development of children in foster placements. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, organising training sessions for foster families, preparing reports, and working collaboratively with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children in care.

Travel within the area may be required to visit foster families and attend meetings.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Supervising and Supporting foster parents
  • Proficiency in Conducting Assessments, Writing Reports, and Case Management
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance, Safeguarding Policies, and Risk Assessment Procedures
  • Ability to Coordinate with Multi‑Agency Teams and Facilitate Training and Development sessions
  • Exceptional Communication, Interpersonal, and Organisational Skills
  • Degree in Social Work and registration with a relevant regulatory body (e.g., Social Work England)
  • Experience in fostering services or child protection is highly advantageous
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
Hours

9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Some evenings and weekend work as and when needed.

Work location

Flexible working. There will be some remote, home and office‑based working involved when undertaking the role to support foster families in the West Midlands. Our Head Office is in Preston, UK. Free Parking on site.
