Position: Coach (Landlord Liaison)

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness, working towards ending homelessness. This role is based at Crisis Skylight Birmingham.

Salary

£38,645 per annum

Overview

As a Landlord Liaison Coach, you will support homeless individuals in moving into long‑term sustainable tenancies. Working with private and social landlords, you will source and match accommodation to members, manage caseloads, provide advice, guidance and advocacy, and nurture landlord relationships to sustain tenancy success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and match suitable properties to tenants and secure long‑term tenancies.
  • Source accommodation through private and social rented sectors.
  • Manage a caseload of homeless members, advising on housing options and supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Advocate on behalf of members during tenancy and lease negotiations.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal teams to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Maintain relationships with landlords and other stakeholders to facilitate successful tenancy placements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience of sourcing, procuring, and allocating accommodation and making tenancies work for tenants and landlords.
  • Knowledge of the Birmingham (and surrounding areas) housing market and the barriers and opportunities faced by people who are homeless.
  • Experience of working with homeless people and supporting them achieve a positive housing outcome.
  • Understanding of housing law.
  • Developing, building, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience of working in a lettings and housing procurement environment.
  • Managing a caseload of homeless people and working towards case management standards.
  • Showing resilience when dealing with difficult situations.
  • A self‑starter who can work on their own initiative.
