Housing Support Worker

Birmingham – Immediate start & minimum 3‑month contract – Up to £20.00 per hour.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join a supported housing service in Birmingham on a temporary on‑going basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a housing or support professional who is passionate about helping vulnerable individuals achieve independence and sustain accommodation.

The Role

As a Housing Support Worker you will manage a caseload of residents living within supported accommodation, providing tailored housing‑related support to help them maintain their tenancies and achieve their personal goals.

You will work closely with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies to identify support needs, develop action plans, and assist individuals in progressing towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of residents and provide high‑quality housing‑related support
  • Develop, implement and regularly review person‑centred support plans
  • Conduct regular one‑to‑one sessions to monitor progress and address barriers
  • Support residents to access welfare benefits, healthcare, training, education and employment opportunities
  • Assist residents in developing life skills, budgeting skills and tenancy management skills
  • Support residents through move‑on processes into longer‑term accommodation
  • Monitor rent accounts and support residents with arrears prevention and financial management
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within supported housing, homelessness services, housing management or support services
  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals with a range of support needs
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness issues and welfare benefits
  • Experience completing support plans, risk assessments and case management records
