Birmingham Children's Trust is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Youth Offending Officer to join their dynamic team.
LocationOne Avenue Road
Pay Rate£24.37 per hour (Umbrella)
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, child-centred services that meet the individual needs of children, young people, their families and caregivers.
- Work proactively to reduce offending behaviour and prevent reoffending through effective intervention and support planning.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people to encourage engagement and long-term positive outcomes.
- Assess risks, needs, strengths and vulnerabilities to develop targeted and effective intervention plans.
- Support children and young people to develop a positive, pro-social identity and future aspirations.
- Work collaboratively across the Youth Justice Service, Birmingham Children’s Trust and partner agencies across Birmingham.
- Ensure children and young people have timely access to appropriate services, interventions and support networks.
- Promote trauma-informed practice and support children in recovering from adverse experiences and trauma.
- Contribute to safeguarding and public protection by identifying and managing risk effectively.
- Engage families, caregivers and wider support networks to strengthen outcomes for children and young people.
- Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality case records, assessments and reports in line with statutory and organisational requirements.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and uphold best practice within Youth Justice services.
- Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
- Social Work England Registration
- Driving licence and access to own vehicle
- DBS check processed and paid for by Eden Brown Synergy
- Referral bonus if you refer a colleague or friend to us
