Position: Attendance Officer – Part Time |

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Birmingham is seeking a committed and organised Attendance Officer to join its pastoral and administration team on a fixed-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils and families, promoting positive attendance habits, and contributing to a safe and supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role in monitoring attendance, supporting safeguarding processes, and building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff to help ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to succeed.

The Role
  • Monitoring and tracking pupil attendance and punctuality

  • Following up on absences and attendance concerns

  • Working closely with families to improve attendance outcomes

  • Supporting safeguarding and pastoral procedures

  • Maintaining accurate attendance records and reports

  • Working collaboratively with school staff and external agencies where required

Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Have strong administrative and organisational skills

  • Be confident communicating with parents, pupils, and staff

  • Be able to manage sensitive information professionally and confidentially

  • Have good IT and data management skills

  • Be proactive, organised, and able to work independently

Previous school attendance or pastoral experience would be advantageous.

Salary

£10,887 – £12,048 Actual Salary

Contract Details
  • 12-month fixed-term contract

  • 18.25 hours per week

  • Term time only
