KIKIT provides culturally sensitive, multilingual support and works in partnership with local grassroots organisations, faith-based communities, and neighbourhood forums to reflect the lived experience and values of local people. Its non-judgmental approach aims to help individuals find sustainable recovery pathways and lead independent, healthy, and productive lives.

This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Birmingham for a Substance Misuse Programme & Groups Facilitator. The facilitator will deliver structured group programmes and workshops focused on substance misuse, recovery, and wellbeing, using evidence‑informed and culturally sensitive approaches. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include planning and coordinating group sessions, conducting assessments, maintaining accurate records, and providing ongoing support and signposting to relevant services.

The role involves close collaboration with colleagues, partner organisations, and community and faith‑based groups to ensure that programmes are accessible and tailored to diverse communities. The facilitator will also contribute to outreach activities, continuous service improvement, and feedback processes to help shape effective recovery pathways.

• Deliver structured psychosocial group programmes
• Facilitate workshops focused on behaviour change and wellbeing
• Support individuals to
  - Build recovery capital, Develop coping strategies, Improve emotional regulation, Strengthen resilience.
• Create safe, inclusive group environments

• Design and adapt programmes for diverse communities
• Address stigma around addiction and mental health
• Deliver or support multilingual sessions
• Ensure programmes reflect cultural, faith, and community needs

• Assess suitability for group participation
• Work with internal teams and partners to identify participants
• Engage individuals who may be reluctant due to stigma or barriers
• Develop engaging and creative group sessions
• Deliver sessions on topics such as
  - Emotional wellbeing, Stress and anger management, Relationships and family dynamics, Confidence and self-care
• Contribute to new programme development

• Support individuals to build confidence and social connections
• Promote peer support and community involvement
• Encourage pathways into education, volunteering, and employment

• Collaborate with outreach teams and recovery workers
• Build relationships with community organisations and faith groups
• Support referral pathways and multi‑agency working

• Track attendance, engagement, and outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely records and reporting

• Maintain case notes and programme documentation
• Follow safeguarding and governance procedures
• Engage in training, supervision, and continuous development

• Experience in substance misuse, mental health, or community services
• Knowledge of psychosocial interventions and recovery approaches
• Experience facilitating groups or structured programmes
• Ability to support individuals with complex needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• IT skills and accurate record keeping
• Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
• Awareness of barriers affecting BAME communities
• Level 3 Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Experience working with BAME communities
• Additional community language skills
• Experience delivering behavioural or psycho educational programmes
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice
• Experience in community‑based recovery services
