Senior Social Worker - Child Protection Inquiry Team

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection Inquiry Team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead complex case assessments, provide expert guidance to junior staff, and collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and investigations in line with child protection policies.
• Developing and implementing care plans that prioritize the best interests of children.
• Providing supervision and support to less experienced social workers and students.
• Engaging with families, children, and external agencies to facilitate effective interventions.
• Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for court proceedings as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

• A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
• Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative practice.
