Senior/Lead Mobile Developer - iOS or Android focused
Can be based out of Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, or Bristols – 1-2 days per week
A growing digital consultancy is looking for a Lead Mobile Developer to join its Software Engineering practice at Lead Consultant level.
This is a hands‑on leadership role within multidisciplinary teams delivering transformative mobile solutions across public and private sector clients. You’ll shape mobile strategy, lead architecture and delivery, and play a key role in ensuring applications are scalable, secure, high‑performing, and aligned to real user needs.
The Role- Lead the technical design and delivery of complex mobile applications
- Make informed technology decisions across native and cross‑platform solutions
- Mentor and guide senior and mid‑level engineers
- Collaborate with clients, designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust mobile solutions
- Ensure engineering best practices across security, accessibility, offline capability, and store compliance
- Support bids and proposals, articulating mobile strategy and technical direction
- Represent technical excellence in workshops, discovery sessions, and client engagements
- Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Mobile Engineer delivering complex mobile apps
- Experience with Flutter (Dart) and cross‑platform development (including state management and platform channels)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitrise, Fastlane, Git Hub Actions)
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, Graph
QL, Firebase, and local persistence solutions (Room, Core Data, SQLite) - Knowledge of release life cycles, automated testing (unit, UI, integration), and beta distribution tools (Test Flight, App Center)
