Python Software Engineer

Salary: £65,000 - 74,000 per year

• Commercial experience developing applications with Python and frameworks such as Django alongside JavaScript or Type Script
• Experience working within cloud environments including AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, version control and CI/CD practices
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Exposure to technologies such as React, Node.js, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Celery, Infrastructure as Code or database optimisation is advantageous

• Develop, test and maintain secure, reliable software using Python together with JavaScript or Type Script
• Contribute to solution design, ensuring applications remain scalable, maintainable and aligned with modern cloud architecture
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing and continuous improvement of engineering standards
• Collaborate with Product, QA, Dev Ops and UX teams to deliver high-quality software through Agile sprints
• Work alongside senior technical colleagues to strengthen engineering capability and adopt best practice
• Support the ongoing enhancement of digital platforms that underpin critical energy systems
