Contract: Part Time, 6 hours a week

Location: The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham, NG2 7SR

Working Arrangements: On site

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Attend or watch training/games and report in line with the NFFC reporting procedures and time frames.
  • Identify, report, recommend and recruit players in your area.
  • Provide recommendations for your area in line with the NFFC reporting procedures and time frames.
  • Attend all scout meetings and CPD events.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within clubs in your designated area to assist in identifying talented young players.
  • Coordinate tournament coverage across the area and maintain a calendar of upcoming events.
  • Liaise with other scouts and our Recruitment and Retention Managers within the Foundation and Youth Development Phase.
  • Record details of the work undertaken in your region in line with NFFC Scouting procedures using our internal scouting system in the time frames allocated.
  • Assist in the collection of background information on potential players from your area.
  • Maintain up to date, in depth knowledge on the registered players at NFFC across your age groups.
  • Present updates from your area as directed by our Recruitment and Retention Managers.
  • Scout across other areas as directed by the Recruitment and Retention Managers if applicable.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the football culture and infrastructure within your area.
  • Work on any other scouting projects as required by NFFC.
  • To abide by Local league, schools, local FA, Premier League and FA rules and regulations and rules and ensure NFFC and Academy policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Supporting the Academy with safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • To maintain player information confidentiality and professional distance from all playing staff acting within professional codes of conduct and scope of practice at all times.
  • To act, at all times, in a manner appropriate to a representative of Nottingham Forest FC.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • Valid Driving Licence
  • FA Talent  Level 2
  • Knowledge of the geographical area
  • Knowledge of the local leagues and managers

Desirable:

  • FA Talent  Level 3 or above
  • Previous experience in a scouting role
