Class 1 Night Trunk Driver

Overview

We are looking for a Class 1 Night Trunk Driver to join our team based in Castle Vale, Birmingham. This permanent role supports multi-drop delivery during the night.

Permanent role:
Class 1 Night Trunk Driver – immediate start. The first two or three days you will be spending with one of our quality experienced drivers for full on-the-job training, support loading/unloading processes, the use of the pump-trucks and hand-held scanners, yard procedures and H&S sign-off.

Salary
: £16.45 per hour, paid weekly (minimum of 46.25 paid hours guaranteed per week) with overtime paid after weekly hours at £17.45 per hour. Multidrop deliveries, over two trips and collections planned where required.

• Night trunking from our yard in Castle Vale to the Birmingham and Coventry HUBS
• Night trunking from some local customers in Birmingham to the Birmingham and Coventry HUBS
• Operate double-deck trailers
• Tip at the HUB and reload for the yard; must be able to use/pull a double-deck trailer curtain
• Some drop and swap trailers are required
• Downtime at the HUBS in the small hours of the night, once tipped and waiting to load
• Monday to Friday nights

• Over the age of 23 (based on experience)
• No more than 6 points on driving record
• HGV Licence for more than 2 years
• Flexibility to operational needs
• Start times from 16:00 to 18:00
• Full training provided
• All new drivers paired with an experienced driver for on-the-job training for 2/3 shifts
