Customs Specialist

• Hybrid working model - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH

We are seeking an experienced Customs Clerk to join our industry leading client in the Staffordshire area.

This role involves handling predominantly Ocean Freight Customs Clearance from Start to Finish
, however experience on Air & Road Freight Customs will also be beneficial. The ideal candidate will ensure all shipments comply with UK and international customs regulations.

• Process import and export customs declarations for Sea freight.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and customs requirements.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.
• Manage customs documentation and duty/VAT calculations.
• Stay up to date with CDS, CHIEF, and industry regulations.
• Provide customer updates and resolve customs-related queries.

• Previous experience as a Customs Clerk in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Proficiency with customs systems such as CDS and Cargowise would be a bonus.
• Understanding of commodity codes, duties, VAT, and trade agreements.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
