HGV Class 1 Driver

Position: HGV Class 1 Day Driver
HGV Class 1 Driver – Garretts Green, West Midlands People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Garretts Green, West Midlands . This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This position is ideal for applicants who have worked in a previous position as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Working Monday to Friday
• Start times between 03:00 and 07:00 Rates of Pay: • £16.25 per hour Benefits:

As an HGV Class 1 Driver , your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Carrying out RDC or trunking work (curtain-side, no handball required)
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required Essential

Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE licence
• A minimum of twelve months' experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
• Good spoken and written English
• Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
• A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills Desirable

Experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience Training Provided
