Are you passionate about logistics, planning, and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced supply chain environment? We are looking for a Sea Logistics Intermodal Specialist to manage inbound container flows for a major retail customer, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and on-time delivery across a complex distribution network. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
How you create impact Develop and manage inbound delivery plans to ensure customer requirements are met while balancing operational capacity. Coordinate rail, road, and intermodal transport providers to deliver volumes on time and in full. Proactively monitor and mitigate demurrage and detention exposure through effective planning and container management. Produce operational reports and insights that support customer decision-making and performance management.
Lead daily operational reviews with customers and suppliers, driving alignment on priorities and service delivery. Identify and resolve delivery disruptions, capacity constraints, and planning challenges to minimise service impact. Optimise transport plans to maximise profitability and reduce unnecessary logistics costs. Build strong relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure consistent service excellence. What we would like you to bring Experience in transport planning, intermodal operations, sea freight, supply chain, or logistics coordination.
Strong understanding of container logistics, haulage operations, or inbound warehouse planning. Working knowledge of cost management, tariffs, and financial decision-making within a logistics environment. Advanced organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational setting. Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data, reports, and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across internal and external partners.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Experience with Transport Management Systems (such as TOPS or similar platforms) would be advantageous.
