We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Waste Driver to join a busy waste management team based in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-focused driver who enjoys working as part of a team while providing an essential public service.

As an HGV Class 2 Waste Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating refuse vehicles along designated collection routes while supervising a small crew of loaders. You will also assist with waste collection when required, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.

• Safely operate a Class 2 refuse vehicle on residential and commercial collection routes.
• Navigate tight streets while maintaining high safety standards.
• Supervise and support a small crew of loaders.
• Assist with loading bins and waste onto the vehicle when required, particularly during crew shortages or on food waste and caddy collection rounds.
• Complete daily vehicle walk-around checks and report any defects.
• Ensure full compliance with tachograph regulations, road traffic laws, and company health and safety procedures.
• Deliver a professional and reliable waste collection service.

• Valid UK Category C (Class
  2) driving licence with no excessive penalty points.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid digital tachograph card.
• Previous HGV Class 2 driving experience is preferred.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual duties in all weather conditions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
