This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. Birmingham - Central Logistics Centre, Gravelly Park
Hours:
40hrs/week AM Shift - 6am - 4 pm Days: 5 from 7 per week

We're looking for an experienced Operations Team Manager to join our Central Logistics Centre (CLC) in Birmingham and take ownership of a fast-paced warehouse operation that runs 24/7. Overview of roleAs an Operations Team Manager, you'll be responsible for leading warehouse operations across inbound, picking and outbound functions, ensuring exceptional service levels, operational efficiency and inventory accuracy. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a large-scale automated logistics environment where your leadership will directly influence performance, customer satisfaction and business success. You'll lead from the front, creating a positive, safe and inclusive culture while driving productivity, quality and continuous improvement.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Operational Leadership Oversee daily warehouse operations across Goods In, Picking and Outbound functions
Ensure products are received, stored and dispatched accurately and efficiently
Drive inventory accuracy and operational excellence
Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices
Resolve operational challenges and remove barriers to performance
Work closely with Logistics, Inventory and Operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery - People Leadership Lead, coach and develop a team within a fast-paced warehouse environment
Create a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture
Support recruitment, onboarding, training and development activities
Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching and feedback
Drive employee engagement and champion diversity, equity and inclusion
Inspire teams through visible leadership and role modelling company values - Performance & KPI Management Monitor and analyse key operational metrics including:
Productivity (Lines Per Hour)
OTIF (On Time In Full)
Missing Parcels Cost Performance Inventory Accuracy
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service levels
Support workforce planning to ensure appropriate staffing levels - Compliance & Quality Ensure warehouse operations comply with company procedures and industry regulations
Maintain high standards of pharmaceutical product handling and storage
Support quality control measures and operational audits
Promote a culture of compliance, accountability and continuous improvement - Health & Safety Champion a strong safety-first culture
Ensure all operational activities comply with Health & Safety requirements
Conduct workplace audits and support safe working practices
Drive behavioural safety and continuous improvements across the warehouse
- Essential Skills & Experience Previous management or supervisory experience within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong understanding of inventory management and stock control processes
- Ability to analyse operational data and identify improvement opportunities
- Experience managing KPIs and driving performance improvements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to operational demands
- Desirable Experience Pharmaceutical, healthcare or regulated distribution experience
- Knowledge of GDP (Good Distribution Practice) requirements
- Experience working within automated warehouse environments
