Children's Social Worker - Contract Role

Are you a dedicated Children's Social Worker looking for an engaging contract opportunity within a busy Families First team? We are seeking a highly motivated MOU Children's Social Worker to make a positive impact on children and families in need. This role offers a rewarding chance to utilize your skills and experience in a dynamic environment, with a contract duration of 12 months.

As an MOU Children's Social Worker, you will play a vital part in supporting vulnerable children and their families. Your responsibilities will focus on child protection, family assessments, and court procedures, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children under your care.

Candidate Responsibilities for the MOU Children's Social Worker
  • Conduct C&F (Child & Family) assessments to evaluate family needs and issues
  • Chair core groups and Child in Need meetings to coordinate support plans
  • Write detailed reports and care plans for children in our care
  • Attend PLO (Planning, Placement & Review) meetings to review cases
  • Prepare and write court evidence, and attend court hearings as required
  • Work closely with children and families involved in Child in Need, Child Protection (CP), PLO, and Court cases
  • Undertake other social work tasks assigned by your manager to support client needs and team goals
Candidate Requirements for the MOU Children's Social Worker
  • Relevant social work qualification and Registered with the relevant social work body
  • Experience working within children's social care, particularly with Child in Need, PLO, and Court proceedings
  • Strong communication and report‑writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Compassionate approach toward vulnerable children and families
