We are delighted to be working with a leading manufacturer who is looking to recruit a Qualified/Finalist Management Accountant to join their team near Bishop Auckland.

This is a full‑time permanent opportunity reporting into the Finance Director. The client is looking for a driven, ambitious individual with a strong management accounting background.

• Prepare and review various group company financial reports to given deadlines, inclusive of monthly P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Provide commentary and variance analysis as appropriate.
• Calculate monthly accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers.
• Prepare and review various group company annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Continually adapt and improve all aspects of reporting, utilising strong IT skills.
• Prepare and review various group company year‑end statutory accounts, liaising with auditors as required.
• Compute and submit VAT returns and various other statistical data to the appropriate authorities.
• Support Directors and senior management on an ad hoc basis to help business decision making and to ensure best practice is established and maintained.
• Help develop the Finance system within the wider ERP context, to achieve effective and efficient ways of working.
• Ad‑hoc tasks to help meet the day‑to‑day responsibilities of the Finance team.

• Monthly management accounting experience, preferably within industry/manufacturing.
• Experience of financial modelling, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Extensive exposure to computerised accounting systems, preferably in an ERP context.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, and with external professionals.
• Self‑motivation and flexibility as a team player, willing to embrace the ‘can‑do’ culture and play a full role in ensuring the success of the business.
• Ambition of achieving long‑term career growth.
• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA etc). Finalists may also be considered as well as candidates from a practice background.
